I am the owner and designer for Loess Hills Creative Crochet, located near the beautiful Loess Hills just North of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
I semi-retired from teaching in 2009. In 2010 I started designing crochet patterns when I couldn't find an Aran style afghan pattern that I liked so I designed my own. I have been designing ever since.
Teaching is my passion and I still teach part time online classes for several colleges.
You will also find me teaching crochet to anyone with an interest. I am certified to teach crochet through the Craft Yarn Council's Certified Teachers Program, and I have taught crochet for the Michael's Craft Store in Sioux City, Iowa.
In February of 2012 I received the status of Professional Member of the CGOA which basically means I'm making some part of my living from crochet. ( a very small part I might add).
In 2010 I founded the Missouri Valley Needle Arts Group. We meet on the first and third Friday of the month at the Missouri Valley Public Library from 1 to 3 PM. Everyone that enjoys needle arts is invited to attend. There is no charge.
My first published crochet pattern appeared in the Winter issue 2011, Quick and Easy Crochet Magazine.
I maintain a Ravelry Store and an Etsy Store which I hope you will visit. Links are provided on the home page.
I have been crocheting for years, but I'm just learning to knit, as a follower of this blog you will be following my adventures with both knit and crochet.
